June 16th, 2012…Since it was the third
Saturday of the month, and it was my week to host the American Passenger Rail
Heritage Foundation’s Let’s Talk Trains show. I chose to do the show from the
St. Louis & Iron Mountain Railway in Jackson, Missouri. The railway is run
by an all volunteer staff. They own the rolling stock, but, the roadbed and right
of way is owned by another company that is trying to sell the rails for scrap.
It is a great tourist railway; even the famous James gang would make an
appearance down the line.
After
the show…We headed to Cape Girardeau and looked at the flood wall paintings and
found a railroad tracks, wondered where they lead. We will leave that to
another wandering.
After
eating at the local Arby’s, headed back up Interstate 55 to Washington.
That’s
a wrap on this wandering…See Ya Next Time!
