In Altoona, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Shuttletrain and I
stopped by the Railroaders Memorial Museum to check the place over. I was very
impressed. It was the first museum to tell the story of the towns’ people that
worked for the railroad in the shops, foundries, and operated the equipment. I
was told that the current exhibits are only a start to a much larger project. The
day we stopped by, they were setting up for a concert in the yard. So here are
some of the highlights of the museum. Take it away George…
Now seriously folks, let us begin the tour.
As I said before, I think this museum is very well
done. They have several exhibits that tell the story of the human side of railroading.
We will see everyone again on the next edition of Shuttletrain’s Wanderings.
