Railfan Pictures of the Week - 2/14/2021

SEPTA Main Line and Pennsylvania Northeastern Bethlehem Branch Lansdale PA January 11 2021

The pair of CSX SD40-2's that had been holding down the C746 assignment, 8019 and 8822, have been turned since the week previous ...
but as they pull up the branch at the former Jet Plastica, that is not the big news.
After wandering around the east coast for a couple weeks, GP9R CLNA 4621 has finally arrived in Lansdale.
Its obvious heritage is Canadian National, but it does wear a Carolina Coastal herald on its nose. The unit started life on the Grand Trunk Western Railroad as GTW 4540 back in 1957 and was rebuild as GTW 4621 some thirty years later. At the ripe old age of 50 it got a new CN paint job before being sold a couple years later, eventually winding up with Carolina Coastal where it has worked for the past 10 years.
C746 shoves the entire train back onto the leased track at Schwab Road ...
Having finally done its job, C746 would cut away and leave it to Pennsylvania Northeastern L160 to bring 4621 the 10 remaining miles to Telford where it will be handed over to its new owner, ESPN in Quakertown.
