CSX Trenton Line Neshaminy Falls PA May 13 2019 |
The rain is bouncing off Q410 as it flies through Neshaminy Falls with ET44-AH CSX 3397 and AC44-CW CSX 143 in the lead. |
Except for a stint with the Tropicana cars last year, the general composition of Q410 has remained the same for years, so it was surprising when a new twist was added recently. |
Autoracks return to the Trenton Line for the first time. Yes, that sounds wrong but it is technically correct. Under Conrail, autoracks once plied the Trenton Line from CP Wood to Port Reading Junction in the form of train ML440 and ML401. They even ran under wires from CP Wood to CP Trent, but until the double stack clearance project, they could not travel between Twin Oaks Yard on the Philly Subdivision to CP Wood. |
Although this version had only two autoracks, others have had dozens, some none at all, so it is hit or miss. Another development, though not limited to Q410, was the recent addition of DPU operations. |
ES44AC-H CSX 3075 was holding down the honors this day. |
The rest of the train was more of the usual ... |
