History:
Railroad built between 1898 and 1900 during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Railroad closed on October 8, 1982.
Line reopened between Skagway and White Pass for passenger only service on May 12, 1988.
Line reopened to Fraser by 1992.
Line reopened to Bennet in 1997, with track passable as far as Carcross.
Special run made to Whitehorse on October 10, 1997, the first train since 1982.
Plans to operate entire Skagway - Whitehorse line in the future.
