History:: Line built in 1885 as Fort Bragg Railroad.; Renamed California Western Railroad & Navigation Co. on July 1, 1905.; Renamed California Western Railroad on December 19, 1947.; Railroad purchased by Kyle Railways in 1987.; Kyle sold the railroad to local investors in 1996/7.; Railroad declared bankruptcy in early 2003, and acquired by Sierra Railroad in December 2003.
