History:: Railroad incorporated in 1892 as Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway and opened the following year.; Electric locomotives replaced steam in 1913.; Passenger service discontinued in 1955.; Electric operation continued until 1967.; BAP property transferred to state of Montana in 1985 and operated by Rarus effective May 1.; Railroad property purchased by Rarus from state of Montana in 1990.; Acquired by Patriot Rail in April 2007, and subsequently renamed Butte, Anaconda & Pacific Railway.
