Richard Carroll, Sr. & Jr. heating up a bracket to straighten it out. These will be used to secure the
tank to the tender frame on all four corners.
The son of one of our volunteers, skilled in welding, trimmed off the four corners of the tank.
Mike Burdett had the two reconstructed windshield painted and glass installed for the cab. Here Mike and another volunteer
are attaching them to the cab frame.
The steel tank superstructure was jacked up off the casters and the frame shifted forward and back
in order to remove the casters. The superstructure will then be lowered directly onto the frame.
Richard Carroll applied a coat of black paint on the tender platform planks before the tank is put
down.
The crew moves the tender frame forward to finish removing the front casters and paint the planks.
