Somewhere is this neighborhood, a
line change was instituted many years
ago. I have not been able to determine where in my photos the
join point was. However, on topographic maps ( Topoquest is handy
for zooming in and out to find old railroad grades) it is easy to see
that the railroad alignment was changed to a
large
sweeping curve
where it used to head easterly into Johnson Canyon where it
reconnected to the present
line slightly west of Williams. One old tunnel still exists in
Johnson Canyon. One interesting feature of the new large radius
curve is that it was made into a reverse curve entering the main
portion of the curve.
