GO TRANSIT CAB CARS CAB CARS 200 to 257 - EXTERIOR DETAILING TO CURRENT (2016) Not included with my published article in Branchline Canada’s News Rail Magazine, March 2006, is the following chart plus ongoing amendments. Before GO began rebuilding and refurbishing their Cab Cars, many of the following “oddities” and “differences” below existed making each cab car unique. But after 2006 or so when the rebuilding/refurbishing programme was completed, GO had standardized the exterior of their cab cars. TEXT NOTES:
#BD 1 = CC202 new to1994 same 2 boards then south # board replaced in 1994 and carried until rebuilt in 2005 - north original grey-white / south bold white
#BD 2 = CC205 centre whistle screen lost 2005
#BD 3 = CC 215, 216, 217 only ones with Chrome Frame around numbers both sides - lost after rebuilds/refurbs for ones similar on 246 and up /other CCs some have paint peeling (eg) 209 in 1993, 210 in 2001, 219 in 2004, 221 in 1994 /
#BD 4 = CC 234 has hand painted number board (after original damaged), south side only - between 1995 and 2003
#DL1 = first order of CC200-214 cab cars DID NOT have ditch lights installed - not until Jul/Aug 1986 were ditch lights installed on all 200 series cab cars as required by Federal Legislation for “guided rail transport”
#EB1 = CC215 still has brass bell in March 2004
#EB2 = CC227 unsure when changed to EB
#EB3 = CC240 still has brass bell March 2004 but not sure when gone to Aug2004 EB pix but likely sooner
#F1 = CC 215 TO 245 delivered with two bracket frame overtop of whistle
#L1 = CC200 to 214 rebuilt CCs have new panel replacing three class with one large red one installed on panel about where clear class light once was located
#S1 = CC246 had 2 stickers when delivered, - south one lost May 2011 - new one appears June 2012
#M1 = CC200 to 214 have mirror on frame north side / half way on south side - when rebuilt south side moved to frame as well - see Gallery pix CC229 and 211
#M2 = delivered new with 1/3rd mirror adjustable north side, solid mirror south side (eg) CC240 in 1991 until 1994 when goes to full mirror both sides / cc231 HALF IN 1991, 235 FULL MIRROR IN 1993
#M3 = the 13rd style of mirror on all delivered cab cars in 1983, both sides
#S1 = CC241 delivered with middle strip missing on N / C and S - ONLY one with strips like this - fixed in
#W1 = new to 1994 white then painted green until April 2003 then returns to white after rebuilt Oct 2003
HOSES = delivered with 1 hose CC200-214 then after delivery of F59PHs a second added

P1 - GOcc200 - note grey electronic bell, whistle brackets, bug screens over whistles, white handrails over a full green background panel, red class lights only, pulsating ditch lights, two safety stickers, regular size number boards, small pilot, sealed conductors windows second level, no passenger step lights
P2 - GOcc206 - green whistle, no whistle brackets or bug screens or rebuilt as yet, the beautiful timbre of a brass bell painted white, regular number boards with full green panel background, no lift rings
P3 - GOcc210 - example of the sliding mirror - replaced quickly as visibility to rear of train was poor
P4 - GOcc219 - electronic bell installed before rebuilt/refurbishing - main note is 219 is coach one in the consist (not commonly done but happens from time to time with others like 206, 210, 212, 222, 241, 251, 252, 254 etc)
P5 - GOcc229 - new electronic bell painted green, GPS antennae on north back of bell frame, two whistle brackets, two diaphragm lift rings, six screw bolts for regular sized number boards
P6 - GOcc234 - note the south side number board and the hand painted number ‘four’ - lost after rebuilt (whistle not black just weather grim)
P7 - GOcc241 (1991) - the ONLY cab car to ever have a missing reflective strip on either side of the door - also the wonderful timbre of a real brass bell, no safety hazard stickers, three class lights, bug screens in whistle, two whistle brackets, regular number boards, no pulsating ditch lights, two diaphragm lift rings
P8 - GOcc241 (2006) - the strip missing has finally been added (Dec 2005) - also now with electronic bell, safety stickers
P9 - GOcc241 (2011) - now fully rebuilt/refurbished - sadly no longer visibly unique - sadly just one of the roster
P10 - GOcc242 - delivered with double wide sized numbers (also 243, 244, 245 only) - this cab car heralds the standardization of exterior GO cab cars
P11 - GOcc247 (2013) - all cab cars have the standardized cab car features now as this photo reveals (246 to 257) - 247 is just awaiting her GPS antennae
P12 - GOcc251 - car number one in consist (similar to GOcc219 above)
P13 - GOcc256 - First photo Sept 2016 showing stripes on door - Second photo 29 Sep 2017 showing stripes removed - CC also has had a new toilet installed and other interior work/upgrading for consist change to caboach (October?) - photo on Cabcar Gallery was maiden run of 256 in 2013

SOME OTHER ODDITIES
1) CC239 graffiti painted, north side Guelph Jct summer 2002 (some $2000 plus in paint used)
2) CC212 first to have 2 lift rings on diaphragm over door, first spot in 1991 with them but not on 200 to 211 and 213 - 214 also has 2 lift rings on diaphragm in 1992 but not in 1991
3) CC200 to 241 NO ROOF TOP HANDRAIL, north side (hogger side), only one hand rail on side frame at top / 2 on south side, ie, roof and frame at top)
CC242 to 245 have a handrail on roof top and side frame north side and usual 2 on south side at top
4) CC240 repainted Jul or Aug 2004 after being side swiped in Willowbrook by another GO train
5) CC253 targeted several times with the Walmart happy face sticker on the knuckle
6) CC229 has green EB / 202 Green Bell Jan 2016
7) CC207 has green whistle 1994-6
