Engine #15 at Steamtown.

The Rahway Valley Railroad's Engine 15 was retired by the railroad on November 28, 1953, the last day the engine was ever steamed up on the line. George A. Clark had sent Engines 13 and 14 off to the scrapper's torch but could not bear the thought of making #15 suffer the same fate. So Clark had #15 tucked away in the engine shed, where she sat for six years. In May of 1959 a man by the name of F. Nelson Blount approached Clark to purchase #15. The exchange was made and Blount added #15 to his Steamtown Collection. Initially displayed in Wakfield, MA, the engine was eventually restored to service. It served on the Monadnock Northern and later on the Green Mountain Railroad. The engine blew a flue in 1973 and was never restored. After Blount's death the Steamtown Collection was moved to Scranton, PA where #15 has been displayed ever since.
