Railfan Pictures of the Week - 9/25/2016
Route 15 Richmond Street and Girard Avenue Philadelphia PA August 7 and 17 2016 |
The construction of the new Delaware Expressway continues but very little is Route 15 related. |
The roadway is ready from Girard Avenue to Ann Street, waiting for the overhead. |
Along the old alignment north of Ann Street, the rails have been paved over, never a good sign, although the return of the trolleys is currently expected in 2018. |
On Girard Avenue, SEPTA has been renewing the track working westward from Richmond Street. |
While vehicle cross traffic is on hold, temporary bridges provide access for pedestrians. |
The end of the current project is Broad Street. Looks like the other side of Girard will have to wait until next year. |
