SEPTA Lansdale Station Parking Garage Project Lansdale PA April 22 and 25 2016

Part Seven of a series on the SEPTA Lansdale Parking Garage Project

April 22 2016 Most of the crane that will be used to assemble the garage has arrived in Lansdale, appropriately parked on Railroad Avenue. The unit is a Liebherr LR 1300 model fresh off the boat via the Port of New York and ready for its first use.
Three days later, in the early morning hours of April 25 2016, the cab of the crane arrives.
The unit and all its parts are shuttled over to the construction site for assembly.
What do you use to assemble such a large crane? A smaller crane, a Tadano GT-900XL, with a maximum lift capacity of 65 tons and maximum boom length of 137 feet.
The LR1300 is significantly larger with a maximum lift of 330 tons.
