SEPTA Lansdale Station Parking Garage Project Lansdale PA April 22 and 25 2016 |
Part Seven of a series on the SEPTA Lansdale Parking Garage Project |
April 22 2016 Most of the crane that will be used to assemble the garage has arrived in Lansdale, appropriately parked on Railroad Avenue. The unit is a Liebherr LR 1300 model fresh off the boat via the Port of New York and ready for its first use. |
Three days later, in the early morning hours of April 25 2016, the cab of the crane arrives. |
The unit and all its parts are shuttled over to the construction site for assembly. |
What do you use to assemble such a large crane? A smaller crane, a Tadano GT-900XL, with a maximum lift capacity of 65 tons and maximum boom length of 137 feet. |
The LR1300 is significantly larger with a maximum lift of 330 tons. |
