SEPTA Norristown Line and NS Morrisville Line Norristown PA July 8 2015 |
On July 6 2015, a Norfolk Southern Railroad Office Car Special departed Chicago IL bound for Morrisville PA. Two days later, it finally made it to the Philadelphia area, crossing over from Harrisburg Line to the Morrisville Line via SEPTA Norristown Line and NS Morrisville Connecting Track, here is NS 952 on the latter two, snaking through CP Ford. |
Always good to see the Four Horsemen, an A-B-B-A set just as EMD intended. |
Once they cleared the connecting track at CP King, it was full speed ahead to Morrisville. |
After disembarking all its passengers, the power ran around the train for the run west. On the return trip, NS 953 took the siding at CP Plymouth ... |
passing H82 at CP King. |
At CP Ford, SEPTA ran them right along. Two years earlier, NS ran a similar train (sans dome car) under wires along the Amtrak NEC in much sunnier conditions. SEPTA cleared this section of the Norristown Line for double stacks, which allows the dome to make the trip. |
