SEPTA Main Line Gwynedd Valley PA June 29 2015 Milepost 20 from Reading Terminal |
As 40 year old equipment tends to do, the Silverliner IV's on SEPTA Train 540 crapped out, and RL1A SPAX 60 (aka "the Carmel Cannonball") was dispatched to bring the cars back into town. SEPTA mechanical personnel were on site to secure the train. |
Of course, being the middle of the day, revenue trains had the priority, and with the railroad single tracked between CP Gwynedd and CP Dale, the rescue train waited for a southbound ... |
and a northbound. |
Once the northbound arrived at the station, Extra 60 got the clear from the dispatcher to proceed down to the signal at Gwynedd ... |
and the thumbs up from the onboard supervision. Next stop, Overbrook Shops. |
