Railfan Pictures of the Week - 09/16/2012
SEPTA/CSX Stony Creek Branch East Norriton and Whitpain PA September 13 and 14 2012 |
Dawn breaks on the Stony Creek Branch, and what do incredulous eyes spy???? It's a CSX welded rail train at Germantown Pike in East Norriton PA. |
Along side the tracks near the crossing were lengths of stick rail as well. Seems the line is closed for some serious and long-needed fixing. |
The next day, having completed the dropping of new rail in selected spots, the rail train shoves back toward Norristown with caboose CSXT 904000 on the hind end, resplendent in red with B&O 175th Anniversary logo. |
Nearing sunset at North Wales Road. Within the hour they would be through SEPTA territory and onto the NS Morrisville Line for the trip back to Woodbourne Yard. Next up, a tie train. |
