Amtrak Northeast Corridor North Philadelphia Station Philadelphia PA May 31 2012 |
18:07 and Amtrak Regional 178 with HHP-8 664 leading a string of Amfleets approaches what is left of the westbound platform at North Philadelphia. Hard to believe that this was once the Philadelphia stop for Pennsylvania Railroad's flagship train, the Broadway Limited. |
18:09 and the flagship of Amtrak, the Acela Express Train 2167, glides through the station on the only express track left, generally used for westbounds (the eastbound express track was removed by Amtrak several years ago). |
18:10 and NJT 4635, having just departed Philadelphia Thirtieth Street Station, is heading for Atlantic City ... |
P40DC 4803 passing the former station building, which thankfully is still standing. |
18:11 and the hind end of Amtrak Regional 178 features the ubiquitous Amfleet posterior. |
18:12 NJ Transit 4632 has just passed 178 at MP 86 below the nest of wires east of the station. |
NJT GP40PH-2B leans into the curve through the station which in the PRR days had eight tracks; there are now four left for the NEC and one for freight only. |
