SEPTA Route 15 Trolley Girard Avenue Bridge Philadelphia PA April 4 2012 |
The news this week is that the trolleys will be returning to most of the Route 15 on April 29. The line has been bus-tituted since October 2011 during the $1.2 million reconstruction and all but the northeastern end will once again see the PCC-II's back on the rails. The trolleys will turn at the new Northern Liberties loop (in Fishtown) across from the Sugarhouse Casino, while the remainder of the run to the east will still have busses until the completion of the Richmond Avenue/I-95 project in about 2-4 more years. SEPTA got busy during the hiatus, reworking the line in a number of places. The tracks on Girard Avenue over the Schuylkill River got plenty of attention. |
Soon you will be able to once again watch rowers from the trolley. |
