SEPTA Norristown Branch Wissahickon Station Philadelphia PA January 25 2012 |
SEPTA has been replacing the wire on the Norristown Branch for several months now, and after finishing work on Track 2, have been concentrating on Track 1 in anticipation of completing the job early this spring. In order to make that deadline, they have on occasion sent out a second wire train to expedite the progress. Here wire train # 1 pauses at Wissahickon Station. |
Wire Train # 1, here just north of Dawson Street, featured RL1A SPAX 61 and cab car SPAX 601 ... |
while just behind it was Wire Train # 2 with RL1A SPAX 60 and cab car SPAX 610. |
They work the branch from about 10:00 to 2:30 each day ... |
before returning to Wayne Electric around 3:00 each afternoon. Note the heavy duty PECO overbuild that runs along the line. |
