Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/20/2011
SEPTA Norristown Line Miquon Station Whitemarsh PA November 20 2011 |
SEPTA and local emergency responders simulated a train versus car incident just south of Miquon Station on SEPTA's Norristown Line. |
Revenue service operated during the drill with the railroad single tracked from Miquon to Allegheny. |
BL15 50, Silverliner V 701 and Silverliner IV 305 were parked on the former Simpson Paper siding for the disaster drill. Silverliner IV 289 was spotted just south on the siding and was being used by law enforcement personnel for training exercises, including bomb disposal (no pictures of that because I was told that if I approached the area around 289 or attempted to take pictures of it, I would be subject to arrest). |
To add a little more realism to the drill, a car was flipped on its side in front of 305 ... |
and wire were draped over the other end of 305. |
