Railfan Pictures of the Week - 09/11/2011
SEPTA Doylestown Branch and Main Line New Britain and Lansdale PA August 30 2011 and September 2 2011 |
With the replacement of Forest Siding with the new Link Belt Siding, a new normal has emerged. The trains that formerly laid over in Lansdale now sit on the Link Belt Siding ... |
and wait for the Doylestown-bound train following to pass before heading back into town. |
Coming through Lansdale, the Link Belt trains now run on Station Track 1 from Land to Dale. |
With the new normal comes a new flaw. Whereas previously the Lansdale trains would depart on time if the northbound Doylestown train was late ... |
the new Link Belt trains must wait for a late Doylestown train to pass before beginning its trip back into town. Will have to see what effect that will have on the on-time percentage for the Link Belt trains as compared to the old Lansdale turn. |
