SEPTA Doylestown Branch Chalfont PA August 20 and 21 2011 |
It's two weekends of bustitution on the SEPTA Doylestown Branch as they prepare for the removal of the north end switch of the Forest Siding in Chalfont. |
Work started Friday night and by Saturday afternoon they were already preparing to spot the concrete sections for the new grade crossing. |
There are only two customer sidings remaining on the branch, and SEPTA parked a ballast regulator and a tamper on the northernmost siding at 84 Lumber which is adjacent to the Route 202 grade crossing. |
By Sunday afternoon, the crossing was almost complete as the tamper works the newly laid ties. |
Just in time to cool the freshly laid asphalt, the skies opened up. |
