SEPTA Main Line and CSX Bethlehem Branch Lansdale PA and NS Harrisburg Line Swedeland PA August 8 - 13, 2011 |
The last week of existence for CSX B738 began with them bringing the C746 train in from Hancock Street in Lansdale. Only three of the four units were online which made it a struggle to get the 60 cars up the Stony Creek Branch. |
Tuesday morning and B738 is using all four engines to take a tank car up to Crystal Soap. |
Wednesday morning all four units head down the SEPTA Main for Jenkintown, where they would reverse to run to Woodbourne and then back down the Trenton Line to RG for engine service. |
Thursday, B738 starts off in Woodbourne Yard with its train, runs down the Trenton Line to Belmont Siding where the power runs around the train, then up the NS Harrisburg Line to Abrams Yard for the last B738 run up the Stony Creek Branch to Lansdale. |
Friday is their last day, and after working the customers at the southern end of the Bethlehem Branch, B738 heads up to Telford for the last time to interchange with ESPN. |
On Saturday, CSX rested as Pennsylvania Northeastern brought in their power which consisted of C39-8 8211 and 8212 with SD40-2 5577, ready to start work the next day. |
