SEPTA Main Line, Conrail Lansdale Yard and Stony Creek Branch Lansdale and Upper Gwynedd PA September 1995 |
The Lansdale Cluster is about to get its fourth owner as CSX prepares to turn operations over to New Hope and Ivyland Railroad in two months. Before CSX took over in June 1999, Conrail ran the show from 1976 until the split, and here is a look back at a very wet September 16 years ago. |
Conrail GP15-1 1644, SW1500 9595 and GP38-2 7874 relaxing by the shores of Lake Lansdale (aka the SEPTA parking lot). |
On another day, Conrail WPAB-10, the local run from Lansdale to Abrams, departs Lansdale, photo taken from the north end of the former Reading Company Freight House .... |
and about to cross over the old Sumneytown Pike Bridge in Upper Gwynedd. |
Another WPAB-10 departing Lansdale, this time with GP15-1 1642 (with the labor-management decal on the nose) leading SW-1001 9405 and SW-1500 9595. |
