SEPTA Norristown Line CP Ford Norristown PA March 3 2011 |
In the early morning hours of March 30 2011, an inbound SEPTA train tore down about a mile of catenary on Track 2 just north of Conshohocken on SEPTA's Norristown Line and service was suspended most of the day. NS 21E was held at Conte Luna for two hours before SEPTA let them loose, and after that the eastbound parade of GE units began with NS 24K, which was holding at North Abrams, with D9-40CW 9575 and D8-40CW 8319 (ex-Conrail C40-8W 6060) for power. |
Not long after, the wire train was sent up Track 1 to CP Kalb ... |
so it could run down Track 2 behind the disabled train and start repairing the wire. |
Next was CSX Q190 led by CSX CW44AC 586 and ES44DC 5299 ... |
shortly followed by light power of H3A heading for Conshohocken Rail with D8-40CW NS 8322 (ex-Conrail C40-8W 6064) and ES40DC 7502. |
