SEPTA Doylestown Branch Link Belt Siding New Britain PA February 7 2011 |
There are currently three projects in motion along the Doylestown Branch: a new track for Doylestown Yard, a new siding at Link Belt and new cab signalling along the entire branch. With ties and rails in place and the blanket of snow slowly receding, the work progresses on SEPTA's new passing siding at Link Belt. The week before, a tamper and ballast regulator made the trip south from Doylestown to the new siding and were quickly put to work in between revenue runs. |
High rail dump trucks were used to get the ballast where it needed to be. |
A couple at a time deposited the ballast along the siding track. |
The ballast regulator followed, often having to plow through the stone which covered the rails. |
