NS Morrisville Line CP King Plymouth Meeting PA November 23 2010 |
While the Blue Line Connection is out of service, CSX has been using Woodbourne Yard to interchange cars to and from Lansdale. The night runs are usually push-pull using the SEPTA Main and Neshaminy Lines. Daylight runs are different due to SEPTA not wanting heavy freights on two of their most heavily traveled lines. A typical run has been light engines out of Lansdale down to Jenkintown and up to Woodbourne with the return with cars via the NS Morrisville Line and the Stony Creek Branch. Here CSX B738, with CSX GP40-2 4402 leading, has taken the siding at CP Plymouth to wait at CP King for NS H3A to clear up. |
NS H3A is about to clear CP King and drop off the lumber flat loaded with utility poles on the PECO siding to the left. |
As soon as H3A clears CP King, B738 starts toward the connecting track for its run up SEPTA's Norristown Line to CP Elm and the Stony Creek Branch. |
On the hind end of B738 is C770, the local job out of Woodbourne, complete with crew, which was probably along to facilitate the reverse move on the Trenton Line at CP Wood. |
As B738 pulls through the interlocking at CP King, they give the SEPTA dispatcher a call to let them know they are coming, and the dispatcher obliged by running them right along. |
