CSX Trenton Line CP Nice Philadelphia PA October 29 2010 |
The progress at CP Nice shows the rebirth of the Blue Line Connection as part of the temporary Trenton Line yet to be put into service. When it is placed in service, the current line in use will be removed and the area to the right of the new CP Nice signal will be excavated for the new lower trackage. |
Conrail SAO Train Z501 rolls off the Richmond Industrial Track headed for the Falls. It is logical to assume that the new temporary connection from the Trenton Line to the RIT would be just east of the new eastward CP Nice signal pictured, so the purpose of the apparent switch in the foreground is unknown. |
Heading west you can see the grade separation between the old and new lines as it passes the former Budd Company Hunting Park Plant. |
The equipment on site bears the names of contractors such as 3D Railroad Services LLC, the Railroad Group LLC and Railroad Construction Inc. of Paulsboro NJ. |
With the lowering of the track, the grade crossing access at Blabon Street will have to be reworked or access will be restricted to the north side of the area. |
