Cape May Seashore Lines Tuckahoe NJ September 4 2010 |
A look at some of the passenger cars stored at Tuckahoe. Among them, a pair of ex-Pennsylvania P70FB coaches PRR 1704 and 1706. |
The former private car Good Vibrations started life as an electric trailer car on the Long Island Railroad (LIRR 2618) before it was demotored for use as a coach in push-pull service (LIRR 2786). It became a private car in 1991 and remodeled as a lounge car. |
CMSL boasts the largest collection of Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines RDC's anywhere. While M407 and M410 are the only ones in operating condition today, others like M408 (former NJT 5185) and M409 (former NJT 5186) wait in the wings for their turn at restoration. |
Back in its original New York Central Railroad livery, NYC 37 was previously lettered for United Railroad Historical Society as URHS 5450, before that NJT 5450 and before that PC 4437. |
Compared to the stainless steel above, these ex-PRSL cars 9887 and 9935, still wearing lettering from their previous owners Wilmington & Western and Atlantic Central, will require a much more extensive restoration if they are ever expected to roll again. |
