| SEPTA Main Line Lansdale and North Wales PA August 27 2010 |

SEPTA continues to train personnel on the three Silverliner V pilot cars, making runs last week on the Neshaminy Line on Thursday and the Main Line to Lansdale on Friday. Unfortunately according to an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the delivery of the first production cars has been delayed until October due to "inexperienced workers, late material shipments and poor workmanship" at the South Philadelphia plant, continuing problems with the communication systems and rust damage on shells still in South Korea. Oh, and the cars are about 10,000 lbs overweight. On the first trip of the day, the Silverliner V test train arrives in Lansdale just as the passing CSX B738 heads south to Jenkintown and eventually to Woodbourne. |

| With B738 coming off the Bethlehem Industrial, a Lansdale local right behind heading for the Bethlehem Runner and a Center City train about to arrive on Doylestown Track 2, the dispatcher had nowhere but Doylestown Track 1 to park the test train so the crew could reverse ends. |

| Running back down to Glenside, the Silverliner V's pass Train 546 at North Wales. Get used to this look because come the end of 2011, with the retirement of the Silverliner II's and III's and the proposed sale of the Bombardier push-pull sets, these will be the faces of SEPTA. By the way, not sure what that box above the engineer's window on the end of 280 is, anyone? |
