SEPTA Main Line and CSX Lansdale Yard Lansdale PA August 10 2010 |
On the morning of August 10 2010, CSX B738 departed Lansdale with light engines CSX GP38-2 2795 and GP40-2's 6160 and 4402, destination Woodbourne Yard on the Trenton Line. |
Although there were cars to bring back to Lansdale, SEPTA usually does not allow CSX to run anything other than light engines on the Main and Neshaminy Lines on a weekday in daylight, relegating those runs to nights and weekends. So B738 dropped off 2795 at Woodbourne and for the return trip picked up NSSX C39-8 8211, pictured here passing through North Wales. |
Having all its NS logos painted over didn't completely hide the heritage. 8211 and two others have been reported as heading to the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad where they will be mechanically refurbished, then shipped to Pottstown for repainting before they begin their new careers as motive power for the Greenbrier Express excursion from Washington DC to the resort in West Virginia. |
It would spend the rest of the day at Lansdale before going out that night on C746 on a Warminster run for delivery at Ivyland. |
