New Jersey Transit River LINE Shops Camden NJ June 5 2010 |
The Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Historical Society sponsored a tour of New Jersey Transit's River LINE shop and maintenance yard on June 5 2010. Thanks for the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art system behind the scenes go out to the tour organizers from the PRSLHS Mike Andrescavage and Jeff Marinoff, and our host, the River LINE's general manager, unabashed interurban proponent and author of the book "RIVER LINE - SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY'S NEW INTERURBAN RAILWAY", Al Fazio. |
A power unit in the shop. The fleet of 20 articulated Stadler GTW 2/6 diesel multiple unit cars feature a modular construction with a complete car consisting of cab/passenger units on either end of a power unit. The line and shops are operated by Bombardier as the Southern New Jersey Rail Group. |
Just outside the shops, the A and B cab/passenger units of 3520 could be found in the yard amongst other items necessary for the maintenance of the line. |
