Amtrak Northeast Corridor Eddington Station, SEPTA Neshaminy Line Langhorne Station and CSX Trenton Line CP Berry Philadelphia PA April 5 2010 |
CSAO FJ10 out of Frankford Junction rolls past the signals at Eddington with NS 5287 as sole power pulling a string of tank cars. |
This photo of Train 98 the Silver Meteor passing FJ10 was the last shot taken before Amtrak Foreman DiGregorio informed me that it was now "illegal to photograph trains on Amtrak property without permission". As the Northeast Corridor is one of the most photographed lines in the country and has been for decades, this may come as a surprise to many. Amtrak has been repeatedly contacted by various people regarding such a proclamation which seems to contradict their published policy (public access areas are areas that are accessible by the general public without a ticket, as opposed to restricted areas for employees or ticketed passengers only) but has yet to respond. Video can be found on YouTube. |
It may be Union Pacific's motto, but on this day CSX delivers by bringing CSX B738 down an unusual route for a refueling run, passing Langhorne Station on SEPTA's Neshaminy Line heading for CP Wood where it will cross over to the CSX Trenton Line to get down into the city. |
Following B738 west on the Trenton Line was C770, the local out of Woodborne Yard, approaching CP Berry heading for the Nabisco Siding just a mile away. |
