CSX Lansdale Yard Lansdale PA and CSX Bethlehem Branch Hatfield PA February 12 2010 |
After a few snow days, CSX is back to work in Lansdale as B738 plows through the virgin snow. |
Unfortunately the plow on the bottom has no effect on the snow on the top, so manual labor is required. Since January 1 2010, CSX requires employees to wear the yellow safety vests while on the job, vests so bright they can be monitored on the ground via the CSX satellite in orbit (the union nixed the company's suggestion of implantable GPS units unless it included "24 Hour GPS Penalty Pay" and the employee's medical deductible and copay for the procedure was covered by the company). For those with no sense of humor, only the first part of the previous sentence is true. Probably. |
Back down to the station .... |
and now out the north end of the yard with maintainers on site to lend a hand. |
With all the work to clear the tracks and switches, they barely had time to make a run up the branch to work Moyer, bringing a lone empty hopper through Hatfield back to the yard. |
