SEPTA Lansdale Station and Main Line Lansdale PA February 2010 |
Two snows storms blew through the Delaware Valley this week, and they couldn't have been more different in their results. Wednesday February 3 2010 saw a light dusting that clung to the trees and everything but the roads, as CSX B738 works Crystal Soap in Lansdale in the morning. |
By afternoon, most of it had disappeared as B738 rolls past Crystal after working farther north on the CSX Bethlehem Branch. |
Friday afternoon the leaden clouds of the second storm rolled in as the SD40-2's of C746 rest in the yard while the GP38-2's of B738 (the headlight in the distance) return from working Hatfield Warehouse. |
Twenty four hours and at least 12 inches of snow later, the yard has a clean white blanket. With temperatures barely getting above freezing and another storm forecast for Tuesday (early estimates are for another foot), it could be a while before the ballast is visible again. |
