CSX Trenton Line Philadelphia and Langhorne PA January 6 2010 |
CSX welded rail train W014-30 (that's right, this train began its journey on December 30 2009) heads east on the CSX Trenton Line at CP Berry in Northeast Philadelphia. |
The train would be held at CP Nesh just ahead. As seen in the photographs, the color of winter in the northeast vacillates between very white and very brown, with a lot of gray thrown in for good measure. |
After waiting a few hours for Q418 to finish its work at Woodbourne Yard, W014 finally got the signals to follow it and continue east heading for North Jersey. The "power" for the train was provided solely by GP40-2 6403 which is mated with road slug 2229. |
The lead car of the rail train was identified as "Raun #5 Rail Unloader" and its Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad heritage is signified by its reporting mark CO 912454. |
CO 912454 consists of a two piece unit of flat cars with specialized equipment. The rest of the train was comprised of the welded rail on CSXT gondolas converted for the purpose. |
