Railfan Pictures of the Week - 07/19/2009
CSX Trenton Line and NS Morrisville Line Upper Makefield and Langhorne PA July 19 2009 |
After a lull of many months, it looks like Air Products in Lehighton has started cranking out the big loads for overseas customers again. Having traveled the NS Lehigh Line as NS 052 earlier in the week, this weekend's high and wide load is now on the CSX Trenton Line as CSX W982 and a CSX crew with NS GP38-2 5296, still in Conrail paint but sans class lights, leading with an Air Products caboose and a couple of TTX spacer flats. |
The center of attention is of course the load, spread across two depressed center flat cars. |
On the tail end for the trip from Manville to Wood was NS GP38-2 5287. |
After a slow and somewhat eventful trip up the Wood Connecting Track, it is back onto NS rails as NS 052 rolls on the NS Morrisville Line for the last few miles to the Port of Morrisville and its final destination. |
At about 180 feet long, it is hard to believe that it is only half as long as a Saturn V rocket. |
