CSX Trenton Line CP Berry, CP Woodbourne and Langhorne PA June 11 2009 |
A cloudy spring afternoon as Q172 with ES44DC 5220 leads a sibling through CP Berry. |
Following not far behind was Q418 with SD60I 8747 on the point as it snakes through Berry interlocking onto the siding to allow Q702 to pass. |
Meanwhile Q172 was held by SEPTA at CP Woodbourne until an eastbound MU can run ahead. Here crossing over Woodbourne Road, where just to the west it is rumored a temporary connection to SEPTA's Track 2 (track in the middle) will be put in to allow trains to pass as they work on lowering the rails on the CSX single track as part of the double stack clearance project. |
Q702 was on Q172's heels with SD60M CSX 8759, one of the few SD60M's with the third rail cutout plow installed to allow use in Metro North territory, and C40-8 CSX 7630 pulling. |
Q418 was held at CP Nesh for Q439, but Q439, after setting off a car on the Trenton Industrial Track and getting a recrew, developed air problems up at Trent and the dispatcher threw in the towel, allowing Q418 west to Woodbourne to work for the next two hours. |
