SEPTA Main Line and Lansdale Station Lansdale PA December 18 2007 |

Train 6546 heading up to Doylestown developed power problems at Glenside, fouling Carmel Interlocking until Extra 419 coupled up to its hind end to give it a push to Doylestown, the net result being that 6546 arrived in Lansdale with seven Silverliner IV's. Here 6546 passes a maintainer at Broad Street in Lansdale. |
Because they were single tracking between Dale and Gwynedd, inbound train 6531 was held at Dale on Station Track 2 until 6546 could clear the interlocking. |
That was easier said than done as the train proved as tad too long for Station Track 1. After discharging its passengers at the station, 6546 pulled north and was finally able to clear Main Street and Dale Interlocking, after which 6531 could proceed south. |
The "Super Silverliner" turned as Train 6535, pictured here approaching Hancock Street. |
The large number of cars allows one to appreciate the roller coaster profile of the former Reading Company Bethlehem Branch. |
