CP Dale SEPTA Main Line Lansdale PA September 4 2007 |
|
The normally nocturnal Lansdale to Philadelphia and back transfer run, CSX C746, has recently made it a habit of outlawing on the way, resulting in daylight runs for the last mile or so. On the morning of September 4 2007, the crew at least got the engines into the yard, leaving the 35 cars on the Stony Creek Branch for the day job crew, CSX B738. Here they are just knocking down the signal at CP Dale and entering the SEPTA Main Line, passing some MOW equipment and material that will be used for the finishing touches of the Dale Interlocking project. |
Leader was SD40-2 CSX 8832 in Bright Future scheme with electrified territory plow, here passing the old Reading Company freight station as it crosses over from Track 1 to Track 2. |
Trailing unit SD40-2 CSX 8866 is in Dark Future and sports a cut-out plow as well. |
Midway through the train, an empty articulated spine car, headed for repairs in Quakertown, allows a shot of the Lansdale Borough Hall in the background. |
