Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/12/2006
East Penn Railway Quakertown Station Quakertown PA July-November 2006 |
July 2006 - EPRY 3153 is sidelined when a bushing fails, and EPRY 5114 is put into service. After the replacement bushing fails in August 2006 and is replaced, it is decided that the newly repaired unit will be repainted while 5114 holds down the fort. |
September 2006 - EPRY 3153 begins its metamorphosis as its current lettering is sanded off and the unit gets a coat of primer. The yellow outline on the snow plow denotes that the unit can be used in third-rail territory, namely Metro-North in New York area. |
October 2006 - all traces of it former Conrail markings have been removed |
November 2006 - the unit is moved along side the station for painting |
November 2006 - now wearing the EPRY blue but looking very undecorated |
November 2006 - striped and lettered, almost ready to go, just needing numberboards. The EAST PENN RAILWAYS lettering on the radiator cowl is nice touch. |
