SEPTA Route 23 and 56 Philadelphia PA May 1994 |
Today the Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys is running a PCC II fan trip on surface sections of Routes 11, 13, 34 and 36 (although we all know now that they CAN run in the subway). In October they will also be running another trip to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Kawasaki cars (click here for details). Back in May of 1994, a Kawasaki-PCC fantrip wandered around some of the remaining streetcar trackage left outside of the Southwest-West Philly cluster. |

The mad scramble up the hill to get the elevation shot on Erie Avenue. Occasionally, railfanning can be an extreme sport. |
