NS Morrisville Line Fort Washington PA March 21 2006 |
After 99W was the first train across the new bridge, the first revenue train was 66Z around 18:00 on March 20 2006. By the next day, a full complement of trains were running. In between, NS continued to work on the new track, ballasting and tamping in an effort to get the track speed up from 10MPH to 25MPH. The ballast regulator worked the freshly laid ballast near the west end of the new track. |

NS 99W, the ballast train, returning from Morrisville, crosses the new bridge. |
Running a loaded ballast train is a good way to test the integrity of the new span. |
After 99W cleared at CP Plymouth, Mainline sent 66Z the empty slab train east. The empty Conrail and NS gondolas are pulled by SD60M 6763, the former Conrail 5501 and the lowest numbered SD60M on the NS roster. |

Not far behind 66Z was CSX Q190 with a pair of ES44DC's. |
