| Around 01:00 on April 23 2003, CSX K277 derailed at this very spot. This is how it looked on June 2 2003 after the track had been repaired. This is basically how it looked after Conrail removed the interlocking in the late 1980's, until just after the derailment, when SEPTA added a facing point crossover from Track 2 and Track 1 to complement the trailing point crossover that had been there for years. | The last two pictures were taken this week and show the new catenary support that SEPTA put in for wire work for the crossover it installed after the K277 derailment, placed right where the once and future second track off the NYSL would go. Also, the original Reading catenary support just north of the new support was destroyed in the derailment, and replaced with new one with a design different from the older ones on the line.
