Railfan Pictures of the Week - 07/17/2005
CSX Lansdale Yard and SEPTA Lansdale Station Lansdale PA July 7-10-11, 2005 |
During the day, CSX parked the C746 power along side Sperry Car 129, so the only time to get a shot of the right side of the car was at night. The ballast glistens as a light rain falls on the night of July 7 2005. This shot almost looks like a model. |
The weather improved later on in the week and fortunately the Sperry car had not yet moved on, allowing for this shot of the front end with the hotel power unit on July 10 2005 |
After picking up the outbound cars, C746 pauses on the Bethlehem Running Track at the station with CSX road slug 2223 leading CSX 6437 and CSX 8125 (daylight pictures of the mother/slug set here). Sperry 129 is on the Bethlehem Layoff Track. July 10 2005 |
For the return run back to Lansdale early the morning of July 11 2005, the mother/slug set was traded for CSX SD50 8562. That night it and 8125 wait with C746 on the Bethlehem Industrial Track as they will follow SEPTA Extra 52 south. Between the two, on the Bethlehem Running Track, you can see the lighted number boards of the local power on B745 getting ready to work the Doylestown and Warminster Branches. Headlights make head on shots at night tough. July 11 2005 |
SEPTA 52 ran up to Lansdale to pick up car TMIX 200025 (picture here) which will be used during this fall's leaf season, presumably on the rail washer (picture here). July 11 2005 |
