Railfan Pictures of the Week - 03/06/2005
CSX Lansdale Yard Lansdale PA March 1 2005 |
The Philadelphia area was hit with another snow storm this week, which means only one thing: more snow pictures! Four CSX units came up on the return trip from South Philadelphia, two SD40-2's and two GP40-2's, and every one had a different paint scheme. |
CSX GP40-2 6148 started out life as Baltimore and Ohio 4249 and was in Lansdale in the fall of 1999, when there were five units in four different paint schemes. |
CSX GP40-2 4448 started out life as Conrail 3391, pictured here sitting on the Bethlehem Running Track just north of the end of wires, where a SEPTA local waits to depart. |
CSX SD40-2 8868 in Dark Future started out as Conrail 6524, the highest numbered SD40-2 on the Conrail roster (numbers 6358 to 6524) when it was delivered in 1979. RailfanUSA is currently trying to preserve a former Conrail SD40-2, Maersk painted NS 3329 (CR 6358). |
CSX SD40-2 8368 in CSX Stealth with yellow nose started out as an SD40, Chesapeake and Ohio 7509. It went on to wear Chessie paint before being renumbered into the CSX roster. |
