SEPTA Doylestown Branch Ninth Street grade Crossing Lansdale PA |
Back in the spring, SEPTA closed the Doylestown Branch for a weekend to install a crossing at Ninth Street in Lansdale PA (click here for pictures). The new crossing would add another entrance to the North Penn Business Center on the site of the former American Olean tile factory. It was supposed to go into service by the end of this year, and in anticipation Lansdale Borough completely rebuilt Shaw Avenue and Ninth Street near the crossing. However, there seems to be a delay on the Business Center side so they have requested and have been granted until December 31 2005 to complete the work, at which time Fifth Street grade crossing will be closed (PUC document courtesy of Jim Evans). Here is a time lapse of the work. May 8 2004 |
