Cape May Seashore Lines Cape May Courthouse NJ August 23 2004 |
This week was the last week of daily service for the summer season on the Cape May Seashore Lines and RDC-powered Train 404 The Mermaid has just arrived at Cape May Courthouse. Weekend service will continue until the end of the year. |
The last round trip of the day starts as Train 405 The Sun Tan departs Cape May Courthouse bound for Cape May, seen here approaching West Shell Bay Avenue. |
Cape May Seashore Lines has a number of RDC's stored on the line. Two former Boston and Maine units that had been converted to coaches sit on a siding off Reading Avenue. |
The yard off Route 47 in Rio Grande is where the bulk of the equipment is stored, including the Lehigh Valley F7's, several more RDC's, a couple of cabooses and other passenger cars owned by United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey . |
