Amtrak Northeast Corridor Croydon Station August 19 2004 |
With the TLM operating on Track 4 between Grundy and Holmes and MOW forces constantly asking to foul Track 3 for ballast work, CETC 7 is frequently running a two track railroad between Holmesburg Junction and Morrisville PA. |
First up was Train 2111 led by Acela power car 2011 heading west on Track 2. One of the many flagmen for the TLM can be seen on Track 1 and, farther in the distance, the TLM itself. |
Next was Train 2110 with Acela power car 2035 east on Track 1 passes a inbound SEPTA local. It is a tribute to its slippery profile that even standing 6 feet away, it just glides by. |
Then Train 41 the westbound Three Rivers passed on Track 2. CETC held SEPTA local 735 at Holmes to wait for two eastbounds that would run Track 2 to 1 at Holmes. Train 20 would wait for Train 41 to run Track 2 to 3 at Holmes before heading east on Track 2. |
Train 86 was running a bit late so CETC ran him around the SEPTA local (it is THEIR railroad after all), but AEM-7AC 926 was trying to make up the time. |
Hot on his heels was veteran AEM-7 950 and the three Amfleets that make up Train 648. You haven't lived until you stand on the platform when one of these babies fly by at 100 MPH. |
Normalcy returned, if only for a little while, as Train 20 the eastbound Crescent with AEM-7AC 925, pulling a deadhead Viewliner in addition to its usual consist, sped toward NYC on Track 2. |
