Amtrak Harrisburg Line (aka Keystone Corridor) Villanova Station July 30 2004 |
7:02 SEPTA AEM-7 2301 pushes Train 9522 through the fog under classic Pennsylvania Railroad position signals and on jointed stick rail still found on the Harrisburg Line. Notice that Track 3 (second track from the foreground) has been upgraded to continuous welded rail, and soon all tracks will have CWR on the Keystone Corridor thanks to the Next Generation High-Speed Rail (NGHSR) Program being implemented by the FRA and PennDOT. |
7:14 St Louis built and formerly PRR owned Silverliner III 233 leads Train 503 |
7:21 As the fog begins to lift, Train 607 led by AMD-103 45 pulling three Amfleets passes |
7:22 Not sure why (the desire to be seen in the fog?) but GE Silverliner IV 277 has headlights, ditchlights and marker lights on as Train 524 makes it stop |
Finally at 7:34 Amtrak 861 makes its appearance. Led by PRR 5711 with 5809 trailing, the consist was comprised of private varnish cars Caritas, Cimmaron River, Mount Vernon, Dover Harbor, Warrior Ridge, with Pennsylvania 120 bringing up the rear. |
